The Store of Value Dilemma

For centuries, gold has been the go-to asset for preserving wealth. It’s been seen as a hedge against inflation, a safe haven in crises, and a symbol of financial security. But the world has changed. And the way we store value is changing with it.

Today, Bitcoin is doing what gold simply can’t.

Bitcoin is redefining value-leaving gold behind.

Gold Is Still Respected — But It’s Outdated

Let’s be clear: gold isn’t worthless. But in 2025 and beyond, it’s slow, heavy, and increasingly irrelevant. It’s not portable, it’s hard to divide, and it costs money to store. Most importantly, it doesn’t grow wealth—it just holds it.

And that’s not enough anymore.

Bitcoin: Scarce, Portable, and Built for the Digital Age

Bitcoin was designed with many of gold’s strengths—but none of its weaknesses.

  • Limited supply: Only 21 million will ever exist. That’s real scarcity.

  • Portable: Send it across the world in minutes.

  • Secure: Protected by cryptographic networks.

  • Divisible: Spend $1 or $1,000,000.

  • Transparent: Track every transaction on the blockchain.

Bitcoin is gold reimagined for the internet age—and people are starting to treat it that way.

Hold Up — Here’s My Unfiltered Take

Want to hear what I really think, with no polish or filters?

I break it down in plain language, with zero fluff.

Bitcoin Is a Store of Value with Growth Potential

Unlike gold, Bitcoin has room to grow. We’re still early in adoption. Institutions are just starting to wake up. Countries are exploring it. Younger generations trust it more than banks.

And while gold mostly just sits in vaults, Bitcoin is actively being held, traded, and integrated into financial systems.

Why I’m Not Just Buying Bitcoin — I’m Buying $MSTR

Instead of buying Bitcoin directly, I’m building my public case study around MicroStrategy (MSTR).

Here’s why:

  • MSTR holds over a half million Bitcoins on its balance sheet.

  • The company’s entire corporate strategy is built around Bitcoin as a treasury asset.

  • Their CEO, Michael Saylor, has been the loudest voice in corporate Bitcoin adoption.

  • MSTR gives me Bitcoin exposure inside a traditional stock format—while I document everything publicly.

Follow My Journey: $50 a Day, One Share at a Time

I’m investing $50 a day into MSTR, every market day, for 20 years.

Every Saturday, I post a weekly update tracking my $50-a-day journey-share by share-right here on this article.

Want to Get Started? Use What I Use

  • Buy Bitcoin on Coinbase — easy to use and reliable.

  • Try Crypto.com — especially if you want a crypto debit card.

  • Buy $MSTR on Webull — great for long-term holding.

  • Use Acorns to invest your spare change passively.

Closing Thoughts

Gold served its purpose. But Bitcoin is doing what gold can’t—faster, stronger, and built for where the world is going. And MicroStrategy is the boldest vehicle riding that wave.

This is more than just investing. It’s conviction.

And I’m documenting every step of it—win or lose.
